Basic Shelter Rules and Regulations
You must call or have a referral call before coming to the site of CMCM. 1. Visitation: To maintain confidentially and privacy issues, visitation is permitted only in the office complex foyer, with prior permission of the Director. You may NOT have visitors on CMCM property that has been convicted of any sexual crimes or issues of violence. No visitor may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If either occurs, that individual will be asked to leave. If need be, a law enforcement escort will be provided with charges following. The first infraction of this policy will cause loss of privilege of having visitors, or rides from CMCM properties. 2. Transportation: If you are being transported by either staff or another individual, you are required to be in the front parking lot. Non-staff individuals are NOT permitted off the front parking lot. If you have called for a cab, you are required to be out front watching for its arrival. CMCM does NOT pay for taxi cabs. Respect other peoples time and effort by not making them wait. An open show of disregard will constitute the loss of this service. 3. Personal Vehicles: You may NOT sit in your vehicle. You may NOT have illegal drugs, weapons, or any other items in your vehicle that breaks Ohio Revised Criminal Code. Upon leaving the shelter, your vehicle is to be removed from CMCM property. You must obtain prior permission from Director to leave vehicle, if not, your vehicle will be towed by Gary’s Towing at your expense. If your vehicle leaks fluids, you are required to keep a covering under vehicle to prevent spillage on parking lot. You may not leave vehicles on parking lot with flat tires, or nonfunctional. They will be towed. 4. Photo Identification: If you do not have photo identification, you will be required to obtain a clearance through Washington County Sheriff Office or Marietta City Police. No clearance, no admittance. 5. Medication will be stored in staff office under lock and key. Medication will be dispensed on a daily basis. Medication will be dispensed 24 hrs. prior to their need. A medical history will be taken by staff RN. To give prescription medication to another person for whom it is not prescribed is illegal, so to do so would be grounds for immediate removal from all programs. 6. Telephone access is available upon request. Personal phone calls limited to 10 minutes. Professional and business calls as needed. Telephone log required for all calls. Time, phone number, and purpose needs to be stated; (personal, professional, business, transportation), etc. No profane, foul language or argumentative conversation permitted on telephone calls. If these guidelines are not maintained, phone privileges will be lost. First infraction privileges will be lost for 24 hrs. Second offense, privileges lost for one week, third offense, privileges lost for the duration of residence stay. Residence must respect the needs of others to access to telephone. 7. Daily Log: Residence must sign in and out daily. Give time and destination. The Director reserves the right to monitor and limit places in which residence may frequent. 8. Mail: A mailing address will be provided for residence. Address being 27375 State Route 7N, Marietta, Ohio 45750. CMCM is NOT responsible for any mail that is may or may not have been delivered to the route box. Mail is easily access by the general public and there is no way to secure mail box with a lock. Mail will be collected and dispensed daily. Residence may NOT remove any mail from CMCM route box. Staff may give permission on individual basis, for that specific time only. Arrangements must be made with the Director to maintain a mail box at the CMCM after leaving shelter. If not, all mail will be returned. Second and third class mail (junk mail and magazines will be throw away). CMCM will not be responsible for mail after being delivered to resident or if resident leaves without making prior arrangements for mail. To enter another’s postal service box is a felony. Please do not force this issue. 9. Random Drug Checks will be administered to residence and staff. If you fail your drug test, a referral to drug treatment will be provided and followed up on. If you fail to follow through with counseling and accountability, you will be removed from shelter programs. Your records will be so noted and any call concerning your removal will state this infraction. 10. Bank Accounts will be required for those who are employed for saving of funds for achieving permanent housing. Director will monitor deposit slips. Some individuals may not be eligible to open a checking or saving account. If this is the case, CMCM will document with signatures of resident and staff if monies are being held in escrow for them. 11. Disruptive and Abusive Behavior: No verbal or physical abuse will be tolerated. No intimidation will be permitted. Profanity is not only against our policies but against the law. (see disorderly conduct). We have a NO tolerance policy. No second chances. There two policies that guarantee immediately expulsion: criminal activity and verbal or physical abuse of another.
